Organizations & Missions We’ve Supported

  • Friends of Leumas, Inc. is s a 501(c)3 organization that supports the school and residents in the town of Kpallan Town, Grand Cape May County, Liberia. The organization has provided books, school supplies and a roof so students can be in school when it rains. They’re currently working to build a library so books aren’t damaged during storms, provide job training, supplement teacher incomes (currently $100/month), provide midday meals for seniors and bring electricity throughout Kpallan Town. 

 

Winter 2017

  • Various donations were made to education, humanitarian and natural disaster response efforts in countries across Africa, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
 

Summer 2017

  • Maryland Community Health Initiatives, Inc. (Penn North) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been delivering essential behavioral health and recovery services through its Penn North Community Resource Center in Baltimore City since 1993. Their mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families struggling to overcome substance abuse, homelessness, unemployment, poverty, crime, and violence ($300)
  • The ‘Hope Without Boundaries’ 5K Walk/Run was a fundraiser for Black & Missing Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring awareness to missing persons of color; provide vital resources and tools to missing person’s families and friends and to educate the minority community on personal safety. Proceeds from the event went towards: funding for families of the missing, flyer distribution, financial support, victim recovery, and burial service assistance. The CWOW had a team present to walk in the 5k and support this very important endeavor. 
  • Troop 6000 is a Girl Scout troop specially designed to serve  girls in the New York City Shelter System. They’re just getting started, but their long-term goal is to expand this program across New York City so that each week, Troop 6000 will meet in shelters across the city.  Meetings will be led by trained troop leaders – women also living in the Shelter System. ($300)
